-20°CThis MAb recognizes the peptide core of gastric mucin M1 (>1,000kD) (recently identified as Mucin 5AC). Its epitope is destroyed by beta-mercaptoethanol and proteases but not by periodate treatment. Antibody to gastric mucin M1 reacts with the gastric epithelium of normal human gastrointestinal tract as well as with the precancerous and cancerous colon but not with normal adult colon. It also reacts with fetal colonic mucosa. Resurgence of gastric mucin reactivity during colonic carcinogenesis is due to re-expression of the peptide core of gastric (or fetal colonic) mucins.||Applications: |Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry, FLISA, and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.||Recommended Dilution:|Immunohistochemistry (Formalin-fixed): Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM Tris, 1mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes)|Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. ||Positive Control:|Human, adult normal and gastric carcinoma |Human, adult colon carcinoma||Storage and Stability:|Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.||Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
