Low Melting Point Agarose is a polysaccharide used for size-based separation of nucleic acids in agarose gel electrophoresis applications. It is ideal for resolving DNA and RNA fragments and for the recovery of nucleic acid fragments after electrophoresis, as it melts at 65.5°C (below the melting point of most nucleic acids). The solution remains fluid at 37°C and will set rapidly at temperatures below 25°C. ||• Ideal for analysis and recovery of DNA and RNA for routine applications|• Strong gel structure allows for better handling and less breakage|• Ideal for a variety of applications such as in-gel manipulation, tissue and cell culture, and viral plaque assays|• Can also be used in protein electrophoresis applications such as Ouchterlony (antigen-antibody interaction assay) and radial immunodiffusion (RID) (antigen quantitation assay)||Separation Range:|100 to >30000 bp||Appearance:|White, homogeneous, free flowing powder||Gel Strength (1%):|≥200g/cm||Electroendosmosis:|0.15||Gel Temperature (1.5%):|24-30°C||Melting Point:|65.5°C||Sulfate:|≤0.10%||DNase and RNase:|None Detected||Quality Control: |Evaluated to satisfy specifications in appearance, moisture, gel strength, gelling temperature, melting temperature, sulfate content, electroendosmosis, and DNase/RNase assay||Applications:|Nucleic Acid Gel Electrophoresis, Protein Electrophoresis, Blotting||Storage and Stability: |Store powdered agarose at RT. Opened bottles should be capped tightly and kept in a low humidity environment. For greater separation capacity, keep the gel at 4°C for 1 hour before use.
