-20°CCollagens are highly conserved throughout evolution and are characterised by an uninterrupted "Glycine X Y" triplet repeat that is a necessary part of the triple helical structure. Type I collagen (95kD) is found in bone, cornea, skin and tendon. Mutations in the encoding gene are associated with osteogenesis imperfecta, Ehlers Danlos syndrome and idiopathic osteoporosis. Reciprocal translocations between chromosomes 17 and 22, where this gene and the gene for Platelet-derived growth factor beta are located, are associated with a particular type of skin tumor called dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, resulting from unregulated expression of the growth factor.||Applications: |Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested.||Recommended Dilutions:|Immunohistochemistry: Fresh frozen or acetone fixed sections|Native Western Blot: After non-denatured acidic PAGE. Will not work in traditional (SDS) reduced westerns.|Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.||Positive Control: |Human kidney lysate||Storage and Stability:|Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.||Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
