-20°CAMPK is a highly conserved heterotrimeric protein kinase found in all eukaryotes. The heterotrimeric complex exists as multiple isoforms and consists of a catalytic alpha subunit, which is stabilised by non-catalytic regulatory beta- and gamma- subunits. AMPK plays a vital role in maintaining cellular energy homeostasis and is activated by rising levels of AMP under conditions of hypoxia, ischemia, exercise, low glucose levels.|AMPK may play an important role in the control of type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndromes. Recent studies suggest that AMPK functions as a suppressor of cell proliferation of both malignant and normal cells.||Applications:|Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry, Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. ||Recommended Dilutions:|Western Blot: 1:100-1:1,000. Detects a band of ~63kD in rat brain cell lysates.|Immunohistochemistry: Frozen sections|Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. ||Storage and Stability:|Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.||Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
