Application notes
The kit provides a simple method for detecting Pyruvate Acid (PA) concentration in a variety of biological samples such as animal tissues, plant tissues, cell culture: adherent or suspension cells, serum, bacterial. In the assay, Pyruvic acid reacts with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine to generate pyruvate-2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazone, which appears brownish red under alkaline conditions and has a characteristic absorption peak at 520 nm. The Pyruvate Acid (PA) present in the sample is proportional to the signal obtained.
