-20°CGlyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) is a 36kD multifunctional protein whose main function is to catalyse the reversible oxidative phosphorylation of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate, in conjunction with inorganic phosphate and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD). This reaction is an important energy yielding step in carbohydrate metabolism. GAPDH has also been shown to translocate to the nucleus under a variety of stressors, most of which are associated with oxidative stress, whereby it mediates cell death. A further report has shown that GAPDH binds to several proteins that are responsible for neurodegenerative diseases, such as amyloid precursor protein and Huntingtin.||Applications: |Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.||Recommended Dilutions:|Immunohistochemistry: Frozen sections|Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.||Hybridoma: |Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice.||Storage and Stability:|Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | ||Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
