Strigolactone GR24 is a natural product that belongs to the class of sesquiterpene lactones. It has been found to have a wide range of biological activities, including anti-inflammatory effects and inhibition of energy metabolism in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes. Strigolactone GR24 has also been shown to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells by affecting the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) process. This compound has been shown to have chemo-preventive properties against bowel disease in animal models. In addition, it is an inhibitor of histological analysis in rats with induced colitis. Strigolactone GR24 has also been found to inhibit DNA synthesis in rat hepatoma cells, which may be due to its ability to bind tightly with DNA. This natural product can be used as a model system for studying transfer reactions and molecular docking analysis.||Synonyms:|[3E(R*),3aα,8bα]-(±)-3-[[(2,5-Dihydro-4-methyl-5-oxo-2-furanyl)oxy]methylene]-3,3a,4,8b-tetrahydro-2H-indeno[1,2-b]furan-2-one; rel-(3E,3aR,8bS)-3-[[[(2R)-2,5-Dihydro-4-methyl-5-oxo-2-furanyl]oxy]methylene]-3,3a,4,8b-tetrahydro-2H-indeno[1,2-b]furan-2-one; [3E(R*),3aα,8bα]-3-[[(2,5-Dihydro-4-methyl-5-oxo-2-furanyl)oxy]methylene]-3,3a,4,8b-tetrahydro-2H-indeno[1,2-b]furan-2-one; GR 24; rac-GR24||CAS No:|76974-79-3||Molecular Formula:|C₁₇H₁₄O₅||Molecular Weight:|298.29||Purity (HPLC):|≥98%||Appearance:|White to off-white powder||1H-NMR:|Conforms to reference||Melting Point:|154-155°C (lit)||Storage and Stability:|May be stored at RT for short-term only.
