-20°CPLA2G7 (platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase), also known as lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2, is a phospholipase A2 enzyme. It is a secreted enzyme which catalyzes the degradation of platelet-activating factor to biologically inactive products. This protein is produced by inflammatory cells and hydrolyzes oxidised phospholipids in LDL. In the blood, PLA2G7 goes mainly with LDL and less than 20% is coupled with HDL. It is implicated in the development of atherosclerosis and is also a marker for cardiac disease. It might have a major physiologic effect in the presence of inflammatory bodily responses. ||Source:|Recombinant protein corresponding to aa47-441 from human PLA2G7, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli.||Molecular Weight: |~47.2kD (418aa), confirmed by MALDI-TOF||Applications: |Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested.||Recommended Dilution:|Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.||Storage and Stability:|May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
