ABO, belongs to the glycosyltransferase 6 family. This protein is the basis of the ABO blood group system and related to the first discovered blood group system, ABO. Which allele is present in an individual determines the blood group. The histo-blood group ABO involves three carbohydrate antigens: A, B, and H. A, B, and AB individuals express a glycosyltransferase activity that converts the H antigen to the A antigen (by addition of UDP-GalNAc) or to the B antigen (by addition of UDP-Gal), whereas O individuals lack such activity.||Recombinant corresponding to aa54-354 from human ABO, fused to His-tag at N-terminal expressed in E.coli.||Amino Acid Sequence:|MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MAVREPDHLQ RVSLPRMVYP QPKVLTPCRK DVLVVTPWLA PIVWEGTFNI DILNEQFRLQ NTTIGLTVFA IKKYVAFLKL FLETAEKHFM VGHRVHYYVF TDQPAAVPRV TLGTGRQLSV LEVRAYKRWQ DVSMRRMEMI SDFCERRFLS EVDYLVCVDV DMEFRDHVGV EILTPLFGTL HPGFYGSSRE AFTYERRPQS QAYIPKDEGD FYYLGGFFGG SVQEVQRLTR ACHQAMMVDQ ANGIEAVWHD ESHLNKYLLR HKPTKVLSPE YLWDQQLLGW PAVLRKLRFT AVPKNHQAVR NP||Molecular Weight:|~37.4kD (MALDI-TOF)||Enzyme Activity:|Not determined. This product is recommended for use in applications that do not require a catalytically active form of the protein.||Storage and Stability:|May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
