-20°CHuman eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 alpha has two isoforms, alpha 1 and alpha 2. The alpha 1 isoform gene encodes a subunit of the elongation factor-1 complex which is responsible for the enzymatic delivery of aminoacyl tRNAs to the ribosome. The alpha 1 isoform is expressed in brain, placenta, lung, liver, kidney, and pancreas. The other isoform (alpha 2) is expressed in brain, heart and skeletal muscle. The alpha 1 isoform is identified as an autoantigen in 66% of patients with Felty syndrome. The gene for the alpha 1 isoform has been found to have multiple copies on many chromosomes, some of which, if not all, represent different pseudogenes. The gene for the alpha 2 may be critical in the development of ovarian cancer.||Applications:|Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipiation. Other applications not tested. ||Recommended Dilutions: |Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.||Positive Antigen Control (Included): |A0001-50: Non-stimulated A431 cell lysate.||Control cells: |Non-stimulated A431, Jurkat or 3T3/A31 cell lysates||Storage and Stability: |Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. ||Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
