Product Description
Rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against recombinant NES.
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to amino acids 1464-1614 of human NES.
Host
Rabbit
Reactivity
Human
Specificity
It does not cross-react with rodent protein. This is specific to human nestin. This antibody may be used in Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence and Western blot where a band is seen at ~220-240 kDa. Another band may be seen ~110-115 kDa. Other applications have not been tested. Though this production has not been tested, past productions have been useful for Immunohistochemistry and Immunoprecipitation. The investigator should determine the optimal working dilution for a specific application.

HyperlinkGene Summary
Nestin is an intermediate filament protein that was first identified with a monoclonal antibody by Hockfield and McKay (1985) [PubMed 4078630]. It is expressed predominantly in stem cells of the central nervous system in the neural tube. Upon terminal neural differentiation, nestin is downregulated and replaced by neurofilaments.[supplied by OMIM
