CD41/CD61 is also known as GpIIb/IIIa. CD41/CD61 is a calcium-complex dependent heterodimer and is expressed almost exclusively on platelets and on their precursors, the megakaryocytes. This complex is an activation-dependent receptor for RGD (Arg-Gly-Asp)-containing glycoproteins such as fibrinogen, fibronectin, von Willebrand factor, thrombospondin and vitronectin. It plays a central role in platelet aggregation and haemostasis. ||Applications:|Suitable for use in FLISA, Flow Cytometry and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications have not been tested.||Recommended Dilutions:|Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. ||Recommended Negative Control:|I1904-78R: IgG1 Murine Negative Control||Hybridoma: |Sp2-0/AG14 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. ||Storage and Stability:|Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. ||Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
